I received below information in an email:
“Bernard, 60 on Friday married 40 years to childhood sweetheart Sue, two daughters me and Mandie, three Grandchildren (Cora, Mehan and Riley)
Likes caravanning & camper van, new passion for fishing, motorbikes and a drink. Does a lot of DIY is a REAL handy man”
After a couple of short conversations we got to this:
Bernard / Dad 60.
Happy birthday to our Dad
For 60 you don’t look too bad
Here we are all gathered here
To toast you health with a wine and a beer,
Bolton has always been your home town
Although a travelled man you’ve been all around
One trip to seven acres that you did do
When you met our Mum the beautiful Sue,
Your childhood sweetheart, your dear wife
She’s been with you for most of your life,
Two lovely daughters Mandie and me
Cora, Megan, Riley Grandchildren three
You like to go touring in your camper van
On your motorbike you think you are the man
You new hobby fishing you enjoy I think
Just as long as theirs plenty of drink
You used to play darts with men that were smelly
You wouldn’t think so you haven’t got the belly
You are good with your hands a real handy man,
Fixing up the house or your camper van.
Not many things that you can’t do
And you love lighting up your BBQ
A Sausage, a burger you put in a bun
A couple of beers and we have instant fun
A couple of ciders a whisky I think
Boy oh boy do you like a drink
I write this poem in fun and jest
For our Dad we love the best
Enjoy your day and the rest of your life
Hot summer days spent with your wife
Your may feel old at 60 but Dad get real
You only as old as the woman feel
So happy birthday from all gathered here
Let enjoy the party and get on with the beer.
